6 Marking, Packaging, Transportation, and Storage
6.1 Markings
The packaging of industrial ammonium sulfite shall bear a firm and conspicuous label, which shall include: the name and address of the manufacturer, product name, trademark, grade, production date or batch number, net content of the product, and the "sun-sensitive" mark specified in GB/T 191—2008.
6.2 Packaging
6.2.1 Solid ammonium sulfite shall be packaged in dark-colored high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) plastic bags with lining, as specified in GB/T 8946, with outer bags conforming to the packaging requirements of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or polypropylene (PP) plastic bags as stipulated in GB/T 8947. The inner bags shall be heat-sealed or tied with fine rope. Each package shall have a net weight of 25 kg, 40 kg, or 50 kg.
6.2.2 Liquid ammonium sulfite may be transported in railway tankers, truck tankers, or plastic containers, with a filling volume of 85% of the container's capacity.
6.3 Transportation
6.3.1 During transportation, solid ammonium sulfite must not be unpacked and should be protected from direct sunlight.
6.3.2 Liquid ammonium sulfite may be transported in railway tankers, truck tankers, or plastic containers, with the temperature inside the containers maintained below 60°C to avoid direct sunlight exposure. Tankers should be regularly cleaned and dried.
6.4 Storage
6.4.1 Solid ammonium sulfite should be stored in a cool place, and the package must not be opened during storage. The shelf life is one month.
6.4.2 Liquid ammonium sulfite should be stored in plastic containers and kept in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated area.
